Well, you’ve landed in the right spot. Finding quality cannabis products can feel like a bit of a maze. But no worries; we’re always here to guide you on your Cannabis journey!

Follow along for 5 key tips for finding quality cannabis products that best suit your needs.

When looking for quality hemp products, it’s important to consider the following:

1. Third-party testing: Choose products that are third-party tested for potency and purity. Look for a Certificate of Analysis (COA), usually presented by a QR code on the product or listed on the manufacturer’s website.

A COA ensures that the product contains the amount of cannabinoids that the package or website says it does, and that the product is free from contaminants such as residual solvents, pesticides, and bacteria.

2. Brand reputation: Choose a brand with a good reputation and customer reviews that reflect the quality and effectiveness of their products. Stay away from “gas station CBD,” which refers to products sold in vape shops and gas stations that tend to be low quality, inconsistent or knock offs.

Also be weary of THC products that have familiar trademarked branding (think Skittlez, Dope Nerd Ropes, and Stoney Patch Kids) or a California THC warning label on it (unless it is, in fact, manufactured in CA), as these products tend to be unregulated and untested.

3. Type of cannabinoid: Each cannabinoid has it’s own benefits, so first, you’ll need to ask yourself “What am I trying to accomplish?” and from there, you can determine which cannabinoid(s) may be most suitable for your needs.

4. Method of consumption: Again, ask yourself what you’re trying to accomplish, and if it’s for medicinal benefits, where on or within the body are the symptoms present and where might your symptoms be originating from?

Each method of consumption can have its own benefits. Topicals, for example, are great for targeting a specific area of discomfort, while inhalation can have an instant calming effect, and edibles can provide longer-lasting, full-body relief.

You’ll also want to consider factors such as onset time and duration of effects.

5. Dosage: It’s important to know your dose so you can get the most benefit from your cannabis products with the least amount of side effects (anxiety, paranoia, dry mouth, munchies, grogginess, headache, etc).

If you don’t know your dose or you’re just starting to experiment with cannabis, read our blog article about dosing.

Once you have an idea of where you’d like to start, identify the serving size of the product you’re looking at, and the milligrams (mg) of CBD, THC, or other cannabinoids per serving.

Products may list the total cannabinoids per package, as well as per serving, so make sure you know what the serving size is.

By considering these factors, you can find high-quality cannabis products that are safe, effective, and meet your individual needs.
